Evie's Madeline Party {the fun!}

I can't believe it's been a month since we celebrated our little girl turning one!  My how time flies.  I can't wait to write her last of her monthly updates.  It's coming soon, I promise!  In the mean time, I'm sharing with you the preciousness of her first birthday party celebration.

We had a terrible time deciding how big or small to make the party, but ended up with a number that was just right.  My parent's house was FULL of Evie's baby friends and our family.

No sooner had my family wrapped up Evie's Hungry Caterpillar Baby Shower, did I think of having a Madeline themed birthday party.  Okay, maybe Evie was like 6 weeks old?  I learned that the little dog in the Madeline stories is named Genevieve and thought it would be a perfect fit!  Primary colors, French-ish food, so fun!  And it was!

Evie was spoiled with some big kid toys.  Eric and I got her a cozy coupe (thank you Mom's group facebook page, I got this for a steal second hand). Grandma and Grandpa B got her an off-roading wagon.  Her Godparents got her the little princess ride along.  She also received a toddler tree house with slide from Nana and Grandpa.  And other great fun things from her friends!!!

Of course the highlight of any One Year Old's birthday is the smash cake!  Evie is such a careful eater (at least she was until she turned 1. Ha!) so she needed some coaching from Daddy.

We're disappointed that G. Daddy (he was sick) and Aunt Leeann and Uncle Dan (they were at a wedding) couldn't represent the Buergler side of the family. But we were so glad Grandma pulled through!!

Thanks for all the help Nana and Grandpa Corsetti!!

Four generations! And so many moon-eyes!

And this party girl has had enough! (This picture reminds me of something off icanhascheezburger)

Happy Birthday, Miss Evie!

Stay tuned later this week for a post about all the party details: decor, the cakes, the dress, the food! And LOTS more pictures :)
