Spring Break Bucket List - Mission: Complete

It's been two weeks since Spring Break. I think it took us that long to recover from the amount of fun we had in just 10 short days.  We checked everything off the bucket list and then some! Friday & Saturday - Kites and Trikes The girls enjoyed a few laps around the neighborhood on their new tandem tricycle that Maggie got for her birthday. (Thanks Grandma and G.Daddy for the awesome Craigslist find) Eric took the girls down to Leeann and Dan's neighborhood to take Luke over to the park to play. They also tried to fly kites.  Little success, but it satisfied Evie. We had fun over the weekend coloring eggs and celebrating Easter with family. Monday - Ice Skating Monday I took Evie to go ice skating. She was so excited and loved everything about the day.  She loved watching the kids skate. Evie even did fantastic getting her skates on and walking around the outside of the rink in her skates. However, the second her feet hit the ice, she p...

Our Spring Break Bucket List

I am so excited to have our first "Spring Break" as a family of four.  Even though Evie went to school last year, I had Maggie on the first day of her Spring Break. It was perfect timing so I didn't have to juggle one more thing, but we didn't get to do all the fun things we had planned. This year she is old enough to have some ideas of what she wants to do with her days off from school.  Evie LOVES to make lists...just like her mama.  On our way home from the indoor jumpy playground this morning we decided to make a list of the things we want to do over Spring Break. Fly Kite - Eric and Evie have been trying to fly kites for over a year now. This is a must have for windy spring weather. Ride Bikes  -  Nothing special but Maggie is getting a new-to-us tricycle for her birthday and I know we'll want to spend time riding bikes.   Park  -  Our closet park is being remodeled. The toddler area is thisclose to being finished. We c...

Family Fun Night - Georgia Tech Basketball

After a ridiculously trying two-year old phase, I am loving having a three year old. Evie's just old enough to go to events and appreciate outings. Eric and I wanted to go to the Notre Dame basketball game when they played Georgia Tech a few weeks ago.  I love college basketball. Eric is indifferent, but he's always up for supporting Notre Dame and his local favorite, Georgia Tech. We decided to take Evie.  We knew it would be a late night but thought we'd give it a try.  She was mesmerized.  Seriously. We were shocked.  We told her which color team uniforms we were cheering for and how we wanted them to make a basket and which side of the court to watch for baskets.  She did get a little antsy here and there, but she'd snuggle up with G.Daddy, Eric or I. We had yummy snacks for dinner, saw Francesca and Fr. Josh from our church, and had a blast hanging out with our big girl! Grandma had fun babysitting just little Maggie for some o...

Funday: Legoland Discovery Center Atlanta

It had been a few weeks since we had a Family Fun Day. As Eric and I were trying to think of something a little out of the ordinary I remember that Evie had seen Legoland at Phipps Plaza when we went to see Santa.  She had fun just playing in the gift shop so I knew she'd enjoy spending some family time at the Discovery Center. But in typical Evie fashion she was a bit nervous trying something new.  Once the gates opened and we went in she warmed right up. Our first stop was the Lego Factory. A (kind of stupid) mock factory of how Legos are made. The tour guide was goofy and engaging. The kids had fun. We raced out the door and went straight for the Ninjago ride. Evie was tall enough to ride it, but we couldn't bring Maggie.  It was a half ride - half video game ordeal. We road in a cart through a maze while pausing occasionally to kill off some bats and skeletons with our guns.  Evie was a little scared by the noises and spooky characters, but afte...
