2015: Stop. Wait a minute. Fill my cup put some liquor in it.

This year lacked an abundance of major milestones, however it was filled with a wholelotta crazy that made for many afternoons having kitchen dance parties to Uptown Funk leaving this Mama ready for Happy Hour the second Daddy came home from work. So here's to 2015, I hope your cup is as full (of liquor) as ours! January -  With the school year in full swing, we enjoyed much of our daily routine of Evie going to Young 3s, 3 days a week.  Maggie and Elizabeth spent 2 mornings a week working at The Natural Baby.  Elizabeth started taking classes at Pure Barre. Eric went on the January retreat with Saint Brigid Life Teen and started as a full-time employee for NCR. February -  Eric and Evie went to their annual Chick-fil-a Daddy-Daughter Date Night. Elizabeth, Evie and Maggie drove to Savannah to meet new baby cousin Ellie and to celebrate Valentine's Day.  We had a snow day or two. Elizabeth went on a Lent retreat. March -  Photography season b...

An Apple A Day

Since it's been like two months since I've posted I figured I'd just jump in with life now instead of attempt the overwhelming task of playing catch up. We had a very rainy start to October.  Many of our Fall plans got pushed back or rearranged.  We had been hoping to Elijay to pick apples but it had rained the two Saturdays we had planned to go.  By some great miracle I was on the orchard's website I noticed that they were opening on weekdays in mid October to make up for the loss of visitors on the rainy weekends.  In the same conversation Eric was telling me that he had some use-it-or-lose-it vacation time before the end of the calendar year.  Eric decided to take a half day off from work.  As soon as Evie was done with preschool for the day we drove to North Georgia for a family fun day of hayrides, apple picking, and fried pies.  Evie was disappointed that her favorite apple, Pink Ladies, were either rotten or not ripe yet. ...

Free Zoo Day and Varsity Trip

I can usually only bring myself to go to the zoo once a year, but the girls love it. And even though I don't have an affinity towards animals, I do remember the excitement of seeing the majestic creatures in real life. We had already taken our trip to Zoo Atlanta at the beginning of the summer, but Leeann invited us to go to the zoo with her and Luke for the Fulton County residents free day.  Sure. Why not?  Eric was excited to go with us. Because it was a weekend and free we knew we had to be there the moment the gates opened if we wanted to be the heat and the crowds. First stop, as you know, the FLAMINGOOOOOOOOOS.  Evie is OBSESSED.  We also had to stop to see my favorites - the giant  tortoises. Legend has it that I asked my parents for a turtle when I was 4 or 5 expecting to get one of these and was (rightfully) disappointment when I received a little box turtle. And then to go see Eric's favorite, the red panda.  It looks like a racc...

Sander Family Fun Day (and pregnancy annoucement!): Main Event

Most of my mom's family lives nearby but we're all so busy that we hardly get to see each other. My mom and her sisters decided to host once-a-month Sander Family Fun Days the 4th Saturday of the month. If you're in town and can make it, great. If not, that's okay too. Everyone in the family takes a turn hosting and you can do whatever it is that you want.  Typically, we have a birthday cake and exchange gifts for anyone who has/had a birthday that month. This makes things a lot smoother, and having dedicated family time is always awesome! April was our month to host.  We were going to host a cookout to kick off Spring but the forecast for the week was looking crummy.  I gave Main Event a call and they still had room on their Saturday line up for a party.  I organized the lanes, catering and our own waiter. Our package included two hours of bowling, shoes, and a yummy lunch buffet.  My sister, Katie, and her husband, Sam, chose this afternoon to...

Spring Break Bucket List - Mission: Complete

It's been two weeks since Spring Break. I think it took us that long to recover from the amount of fun we had in just 10 short days.  We checked everything off the bucket list and then some! Friday & Saturday - Kites and Trikes The girls enjoyed a few laps around the neighborhood on their new tandem tricycle that Maggie got for her birthday. (Thanks Grandma and G.Daddy for the awesome Craigslist find) Eric took the girls down to Leeann and Dan's neighborhood to take Luke over to the park to play. They also tried to fly kites.  Little success, but it satisfied Evie. We had fun over the weekend coloring eggs and celebrating Easter with family. Monday - Ice Skating Monday I took Evie to go ice skating. She was so excited and loved everything about the day.  She loved watching the kids skate. Evie even did fantastic getting her skates on and walking around the outside of the rink in her skates. However, the second her feet hit the ice, she p...
