A Very Hungry Caterpillar - Our Baby Shower!

My family might get a little carried away with theme parties, as evident with my Mom's 50th birthday Decades party   (please ignore the horrible photos)  and David & Pagie's Monkey Baby Shower .   It was no surprise that our baby shower would be equally decadent.  And it did not disappoint. In addition to my mom and sister's creative touch, my friend Rosemary joined in the planning and hosting.  My sister-in-law, Paige, and my brother's girlfriend, Bridget also gave a helping hand. Thank you, ladies! Rosemary's sister is a graphic designer.  She made the invitations, banner and other signage for the party.  She used the diaper bag we registered for as her inspiration.  Creative huh?  {via} PS: You can click on any of the photos and collages to make them larger... (Yes, we had the Notre Dame game on during the shower. Duh. And we won. Finally) Given the invitations, I had no idea what the theme of our shower...

{Kid}ding around Friday: Baby Girl's Crib

I am excited to occasionally link up with this new blog party, now that I have a "kid" to participate.   After several (easily a half dozen) trips to buybuybaby and Pottery Barn Kids carefully discerning cribs, Eric and I finally picked out the crib for baby girl and (God willing) future Baby Buerglers.  We had our eye on two very similar cribs. One at each store.  Same color and similar design.  However, one was a bit more expensive.  I did a little online review reading and found that the cheaper one had great reviews and people were genuinely impressed with the quality for the price.  The more expensive one had opposite reviews, people were disappointed in the quality for the price.  So, that settled it.  Cheaper one it is!   We are so thankful to Eric's parents for their generous gift.  They even bought us the mattress and toddler rail to go with it! {via} Won't it look *a...

Hello, Third Trimester - Pregnancy Update {Weeks 27 & 28}

How far along?   Twenty-Eight Weeks.  Hello, third trimester. How big is baby? I've seen varying reports around the internet from 2 pounds to 2.5 pounds.  I am secretly hoping for an ultrasound at my midwife appointment on Wednesday.  I want to see her so badly, even if it's in alien form. Total weight gain: +33 total.  Once upon a time I thought I'd only gain 30 pounds this whole pregnancy.  I'll be lucky to keep it under 50.  ;-) Maternity Clothes? I can honestly say I didn't buy anything in the last two weeks! Mostly because I don't *need* it and a little because the cooler weather is coming soon and I need to save up for a few long sleeved things before baby comes.  PS: Of course Motherhood Maternity just now sends out a 40% off coupon...hhmm. Stretch Marks?  I pretend that I am over it, but I'm not. They itch. A lot.  Basically new ones are popping up anywhere on my skin that'd (fortunately) be covered by a Be...
