A Sprinkle for Leeann

My sister asked me for her Gender Reveal Party pictures today and in doing so I found the pictures from the Sprinkle we threw my sister-in-law this summer.  Leeann was expecting her second child, but first daughter. I put together a little sprinkle to shower her with some girly baby things. I love the literal idea of having sprinkles at a sprinkle, and then Leeann and Dan used Share-A-Coke bottles as their gender and name reveal, it made everything tie together even more.  My sister and I raided our party supply closets and the end-of-summer clearance aisle at Michael's and threw this together in no time.  And to make things even better, Target had some random "mini candies" sale the same week I needed to buy all the toppings.  I found a Wilton pan to make these cookie bowls (75% off at Michaels! holla!). And they were a hit.  Our small, but mighty centerpiece was the family's Share-a-Coke bottles. Special thanks to my mom who made a d...

Sam and Katie's Gender Reveal Party -- It's A......?

Katie and Sam were back and forth about finding out the sex of the baby ahead of time or letting it be a surprise at birth.  We talked about the pros and cons of each and they decided to at least get the 12 week blood test done so they could look at the results later should they choose to. Katie and I had been looking at party themes for her baby showers and there were just so many fun ideas that they decided to have a gender reveal party to we could use another theme! Ha! Who doesn't love an excuse to party? If you've followed our blog for any amount of time you know that's what my family does best. Katie's guidelines for the party:  keep it simple, no meal, and a fun reveal that will photograph and video well (so no cake cutting, etc).  She had really wanted a Mexican themed baby shower, but I talked her into a Mexican themed gender reveal once I started putting a few ideas together. I did a photo booth at the entrance of the party.  Guests were asked ...

Maggie's Maggi and Milo Birthday Party

When I was pregnant with Evie, my sister and Rosemary threw us a couple's baby shower with a Hungry Caterpillar theme.   And when Evie turned ONE we threw a Madeline themed birthday party.  I wasn't even sure I wanted to have a party for Maggie's birthday, but my mother insisted and I'm glad she did. We kept the guest list very small, though you wouldn't guess it by the quality and quantity of the decorations. We chose Evie's Madeline theme because the little dog's name was Genevieve, so I wanted to see if I could find a story with the name Maggie in it. I discovered  Maggi and Milo  while in the waiting room at the pediatrician's office. We read the story and fell in love.  The book is about a girl who receives a yellow bucket and a frog hunting kit from her grandmother. She wears an orange tutu and blue polka dot rain boots. Maggi and her boarder collie, Milo, go on adventures looking for frogs. It's adorable.   For the table decora...

A Sprinkle for Paige

Maggie is napping. Evie is out with Nana. Taking a hot second to catch up on some blogging. Saturday after Thanksgiving we had a small, family "Sprinkle" for my sister-in-law, Paige. They're expecting their second the beginning of February. Thanksgiving was the last week Paige was allowed to travel before baby Ellie arrives. Since they live about 4-5 hours away, I wanted to do a little something for them.  It was also two days after Thanksgiving, so keeping it simple and light was paramount.  Evie was my co-hostess. She absolutely loved being my helper. She helped get the table set, pour the sprinkles into the candle holders, clean the living room, and distribute the game supplies. She was giddy with delight.  Evie kept jumping with excitement to help with the next task "for baby Ellie's party, Mama!" We did the party at 2pm.  I kept the "sprinkle" theme pretty literal. We served ice cream sundaes and used sprinkles and polka dots as t...
