The Buerglers

 New traditions are brewing in the Corsetti Family.  Only recently did my mother start hosting Thanksgiving, instead of us (all 30 something) going to my Grandparent's house.  This year my sister, Katie, and her husband, Sam hosted Thanksgiving in their new home.  After an awesome pajama morning watching the Macy's Parade, I took the girls over to Katie and Sam's house.  Eric had to work a half day to make up for some sick time off. We had a delicious potluck appetizer lunch while watching Football and enjoying family time.  Sam's dad, step mom and her daughter's family joined us this year, too!  The kids played outside and did crafts and watched shows on the iPad.  And to everyone's surprise, Dad fell asleep on the couch.  And finally it was time for Katie to organize the oven.  She used her best Home Ec teacher voice to figure out what needed to go in the oven when.  And there were ...

I can't believe it's been over a month already since we celebrated our sweet Evie turning THREE!  We had a simple family party at our house.  We made a decadent nacho bar for lunch. (Easy and fun for our family with a million food issues).  And since Evie loves Moe's we sprung for Moe's queso to top the nachos.  My mom made us a generic "Happy Birthday" banner to keep for family birthdays in the future.  I bought some pom poms to double use for my sister in law's baby shower and Evie's birthday. Wham bam thank you ma'am.  I asked Evie if she wanted a cake or something else for her birthday dessert.  We've been sick. Like really sick.  The natives are getting restless, but we're still too sick to venture out.  Evie has been really into Christmas this year.  And she LOVES anything counting and calendar related these days.  I decided to use our sick day week to do a little fun project with her.  It literally took 15 minutes to organize, execute and clean.  I used some old Christmas themed scrapbook paper (those were the days....) and our rotary paper cutter.  Evie picked out the 3 pieces of paper she liked best.  We laid them in piles on the floor. We picked a pattern: green trees, polka dots, red loops.  It was her job to remember the pattern.  She also helped link and loop the paper. And I stapled (not even glue, remember this is Not-so-Pinteresty) the links together.  We used masking tape to hang it on the door in the foyer.  Boom.
